Walthamstow Shogi Tournament will be on 12 April 2014

A one day shogi tournament will be held in Walthamstow,  East London on Saturday 12th April. All players are very welcome, regardless of strength or experience.

Entries should be sent by email to Steven Cain, webmaster at Shogi London.

There will be an entry fee of £10 payable at the venue. There will be no cash prize but there may be book prizes or other goodies.

The exact format and number of rounds will depend on the number of players. We hope to play about 5 rounds between 1000 and 1800, with all players playing in each round. If practicable, the time limits will be chosen to allow games to be graded by FESA (the Federation of European Shogi Associations).

The venue is the Welcome Centre, 8 Church End, Walthamstow, E17 9RJ.

The nearest tube station is Walthamstow Central (20 minutes from Euston on the Victoria line, or from Liverpool Street by overground). A map showing the 10 minute walk from the station to The Welcome Centre is here. (Click OSM mode for the clearest view). There is some parking at the venue but availability cannot be guaranteed and parking in Walthamstow can be difficult. Please let Steven know if you intend to drive.
