Probably Shogi at the Mind Sports Olympiad on 24.08.2016

I have been very busy and away at the European Shogi Championship, so didn't notice this until late, but... it looks as if there is an opportunity to play Shogi at the Mind Sports Olympiad (as well as many other games including Go, Othello, Chinese Chess, Entropy and Lines of Action). This is being held from 21-29 August at JW3 on London's Finchley Road. The Shogi event is planned for the afternoon of Wednesday 24th August starting at 2.15 pm.

July 2016 meeting will be on 30.07.2016

There will be a Saturday meeting of the London Shogi Club on 30.07.2016. David Faldon should be someone around from 11am until at least 2pm at Caffe Nero, 10 Bedford Street, London WC2E 7HE.

Everyone is very welcome, regardless of strength or experience.

The nearest rail station is Charing Cross. Embankment, Covent Garden and Leicester Square underground stations are close, but it's best to check which lines are running with Transport for London.

There will be a Saturday meeting of the London Shogi Club on 25.06.2016. There should be someone around from 11.30am until at least 2pm at Caffe Nero, 10 Bedford Street, London WC2E 7HE.

Shogi tournament in Birchington on 04.06.2016

Steve Campbell is running another shogi event in Birchington-on-Sea, Kent, after last years successful event. It will be held on Saturday, June 4th, at the Seaview Hotel, which is less than ten minutes' walk from Birchington railway station. (CT7 9RA, landline 01843-841-660). The tournament will run from  about 10.30am to 5.45pm. As before, veteran players from the early years of shogi in the UK are particularly welcome. April 2016 meeting will be on 30.04.2016
