More news about UK shogi

Natasha Regan has set up an English Shogi Players team on lishogi.org. This is another online server like 81dojo, and has the advantage that it's much easier to set up formal or informal tournaments. The team is having regular arena tournaments, together with a Zoom chat. These are normally at the weekend although we haven't completely settled when they happen.

If you have a connection to UK shogi you would be very welcome - you don't have to be English or British, although we are mainly aiming to bring in people living in the UK. You would need to register on lishogi, then join the English Shogi Players team on lishogi. Then watch out for details of the next arena. Once you have joined you could also ask us for details of the Zoom.

Hopefully that should be clear enough, but if you have a question, feel free to let us know by

Perhaps London shogi is coming out of hibernation?

We aren't running a London shogi club yet, but some of us are investigating whether we can run a face to face event.  This depends on being able to book a venue, and of course having regard to Covid risks and any restrictions which are in place. If that is successful, maybe we can think about starting up a club.

We will let you know more later.
