Information on the London Shogi Club, shogi events in or near London, and occasional other stuff. Shogi is Japanese chess, and the key way it differs from regular chess is that when you take your opponent pieces, you keep them, and can 'drop' them back on the board later. It's pretty popular in Japan so you often see it in anime and Japanese art, but it's not very well known in the UK.

No official December 2013 meeting
There will be no official meeting of the London Shogi Club in December as Caffe Nero will be rather full of shoppers.
However, we expect a couple of our regular players will be around on Saturday 14th December from about 11am. I hope it isn't too crowded for them!

2013 British Shogi Championships - reminder
There will be an entry fee of £15 payable at the venue on the day. There will be no cash prize but there will be a trophy, books and other goodies. While in principle we are happy to accept entries on the day, it would be best if you could email David Faldon so we can make sure we have enough shogi boards and clocks.
