The September end of month meeting is confirmed. David Faldon will be around from 10am until at least 2pm at Caffe Nero, 10 Bedford Street, London WC2E 7HE. [map]
Everyone is very welcome, regardless of strength or experience.
The nearest rail station is Charing Cross. Embankment, Covent Garden and Leicester Square underground stations are close, but it's best to check which lines are running with Transport for London
Information on the London Shogi Club, shogi events in or near London, and occasional other stuff. Shogi is Japanese chess, and the key way it differs from regular chess is that when you take your opponent pieces, you keep them, and can 'drop' them back on the board later. It's pretty popular in Japan so you often see it in anime and Japanese art, but it's not very well known in the UK.

September 2008 event and meeting
There will be a shogi event on 13.09.2008 at the South Bank Centre [festival map] as part of the Thames Festival Japanese Jamboree. We will probably run a tournament between 12 and 5pm, and should also be able to discuss shogi or just chat. Just look for the shogi boards.
There will also be a regular Saturday meeting of the London Shogi Club on 27.09.2008. David Faldon will be around from 10am at Caffe Nero, 10 Bedford Street, London WC2E 7HE. [map]
Everyone is very welcome to both of these, regardless of strength or experience.
